As we bring August to a close with our theme of “the journey,” I wanted to use the quote because I felt it was the perfect metaphor for how a lot of people feel in their lives. Almost all people want to change something about themselves or their lives. If we think of our lives as a merry-go-round, we know that eventually the ride will come to a stop to allow people who want to get off to do so and some stay on.
Some people want to stay on and are content and that’s ok, but if you are someone who knows there is more out there for you, but every time the ride stops you check your seatbelt and stay on, things will never change.
The Blogspiration challenge this week is for those who are afraid to get off…take a moment, sit back, close your eyes and imagine you are on a merry-go-round…what catches your eye as you go around? Focus on that…what is it exactly? Maybe it’s getting a dog, or starting a class or to get out of an unhealthy relationship. Next time the ride stops, unbuckle yourself and take a step towards that focus. You can do it, just one step is all you need to start your journey!
