Last week you may have been looking forward to Friday for the long weekend. You may have spent the weekend partaking in barbecues, great memories, nice weather or something else and then Tuesday morning came and so did the instinct to hit the snooze button. Maybe more than once right? The quote this week you probably have heard before, but its meaning sometimes leaves us in the throes of deadlines and meetings. The challenge this week is to bring those weekend feelings into the workplace and use that as motivation to build relationships, work interdependently with others and then give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done! It’s easy to let our work define us while longing for another definition, but what if you started to define yourself by who you are rather than what you do? Imagine the possibilities! Use that drive to be a better employee, but also the boss of yourself this week. When you leave work, leave feeling accomplished even if something wasn’t completed, a step along the way is still progress. When you get home, do something for you that brings out your best self, something you can get lost in. Maybe this is a walk on the beach, time with your kids, or partaking in a hobby. Whatever it is, enjoy it and use that memory to motivate you to Wednesday, and so on.
