We are human…and so we are really good at blaming others for our shortcomings and making excuses for why we haven’t reached our goals.  I have seen a lot of people over the years who have this constant hope that change will just happen one day and so they enter a vicious cycle of excuse, blame, denial and then hope again.  I get dizzy just thinking about it!  When we realize that hope isn’t enough it can be devastating but also an enormous sense of relief.  So how can you stop this cycle and do something? As Thanksgiving is only days ahead, it’s time to shift our focus from what is lacking in our lives to what we have and appreciating it.  Whether it’s good health, a partner that respects you, a true friendship or having a roof over your head, recognizing all that you have can give you a positive perspective on life and perhaps the motivation to help others in need. This week, be thankful and mindful of your appreciation for people or well-being in life.  Take a moment to smile at what is good and maybe reflect on how the not so good things can be made better by your choices....
